Background to the Expedition
This blog has been set up by me, Ruth Hollinger to raise awareness about the Fuchs Foundation Antarctic Expedition 2007. The expedition marks the 50th anniversary of the first crossing of Antarctica by Sir Vivian Fuchs. Four teachers (me, Phil, Amy and Ian) will travel to Union Glacier in Antarctica in November 2007 to conduct scientific research with a view to inspiring young people to take an interest in Science and Geography. On our return we will produce educational resources which will be freely available on the Fuchs Foundation website.
